Cloud Peak in Wyoming
The 189,000-acre Cloud Peak Wilderness is located in the Big Horn National Forest in Wyoming amidst the magnificent Bighorn Mountains range. Near the center of this 300 square mile wilderness is Cloud Peak itself. It is the highest peak in the Bighorn Mountains at 13,175 feet high.

The Cloud Peak wilderness provides visitors with some of the most impressive and beautiful scenery of any stretch of Wyoming mountains. Here there are thick pine forests, boulder fields, and big open parks surrounded by towering, rugged peaks.

The Cloud Peak Wilderness has numerous loop trails to hike, with some trail combinations resulting in treks that can take a week or more.

The best time to travel to the Cloud Peak Wilderness is from July to September. Visitors should take note that registration with the Wyoming Parks Service is mandatory whenever entering the wilderness. Campfires are not permitted within 300 feet of lakes, streams and trails. Camping within 100 feet of any body of water is prohibited. Motorized vehicles are also forbidden.
