Trail in Coulee Forest
This State Forest is not your typical untouched natural setting, typical to Wisconsin. Coulee is basically a functioning, large-scale science lab, arranged by the state for research purposes. Conservationists and wildlife scientists perform studies on the land and closely monitor its shifts and changes, so as to assist the forest in production and prevent erosion caused by watershed.

Those involved have the daunting task of studying the behavior of the gaping holes left behind by ancient Wisconsin glaciers. But this State Forest is not just for experimentation. It is also for exploration, just as any of the aforementioned parks. It is a well-developed area, perfect for hunting, skiing and horseback riding.
