Information on Telemark Resort:

Nestled in the heart of the Wisconsin wilderness near the Chequamegon National Forest, Telemark Resort is known internationally as a unique four season vacation spot.

The complex of comfortable condominiums and lodge rooms grew out of the Mount Telemark alpine ski area, first opened in 1947.

Lodge construction began in 1972 with the massive 55-foot tall, 155-ton field stone fireplace that still greets guests with a warm glow. The lodge's distinctive star-shape was conceived by famed architect Herb Fritz, a student of Frank Lloyd Wright. That year also saw the introduction of world-class cross-country ski trails.
