Information on Granite Peak:
Granite Peak (formerly Rib Mountain) lies in the center of the state in Wausau, Wis., and is the highest skiable mountain in state. It also boasts the second highest vertical in the whole Midwest at 700 feet. The area has made significant improvements in the past few years. These include a HighSpeed six person chair, new trails, a new 11,000 sq.ft. base lodge with a ski shop, demo shop and cafe. The area has 100 percent snowmaking and grooming, and offers skiers and snowboarders a spectacular view of the city lights while night skiing Monday through Sunday.
