Green Bay is a simple town, content with their all too
brief football season (which is pored over year round), their beer,
and their dairy products. A lot of the tourism revolves around the former
and with good reason. The Packers have a storied history and they are
usually a contender. Lambeau Field tours are a notable summer time attraction,
when the games cease. The National Railroad Museum, dedicated to Green
Bay’s extensive Freight, industry is also a nice warm weather
attraction. In summer an old school locomotive ride is included with
the price of admission.
The history and current status of the self-proclaimed “oldest
Midwest settlement” is chronicled thoroughly at the Oneida National
Museum. And of course the Oneida Casino is not far down the road.
Like any Wisconsin town, a day trip to the coast or a quick jaunt to
a nearby pristine natural setting are interesting ways to mix it up.
