When we talk about West Virginia the first thing that comes in mind is the scenic natural beauty. West Virginia is the only state in US which is entirely within the Appalachian Mountain Range and which has given the name, 'The Mountain State'. There are several lakes and rivers that lure thousands of visitors to West Virginia that offers several outdoor activities and recreation areas perfect for family vacations and weekend getaways.
   
 

Sutton Lake:  it is a beautiful lake seen winding 14 miles along the Elk River  with many coves and huge shoreline. It is place abound with activities that compel the tourists to come to this place and have fun.

Beech Fork Lake:  the lake is situated in the most strategic located on the Southwestern part  which is very close to Charleston WV, Cincinnati OH and Lexington, KY. The best part is it  is surrounded by beautiful hills and a place with endless entertainment opportunities. 

Burnsville Lake: both a flood control reservoir and recreational area on Little River Kanawha.

Summersville Lake: Largest lake in West Virginia and has attained the reputation of being the mecca for tourists for its innumerable recreational activities and much more.

Jennings Randolph Lake:  is a recreation paradise with family friendly activities as well as sports for adventure seekers. A complete entertaining place for all. 

Lake Sherwood: it is well known as the best recreational area full of campgrounds, swimming beaches, picnic area, pavilions and trails.

Brandywine Lake : the six acre Brandywine lake is known for its picturesque looks and Brandywine Lake Recreation Area that offers swimming, fishing, camping and picnicking.

Cacapon Lake: is a must visit place with so much to see and do in and around the lake right from swimming to several games, fishing, hiking, golfing, horseback riding, nature and recreation programs.
