Just about anything within the boundaries
of this park can be considered coarse. The roads are sparse and
volatile, the trees and peaks angle up at dramatic angles, the
weather is unpredictable and at times dangerous and the wildlife
is well, wild.
But some people find these conditions favorable, and even if you
don’t, the views and sensations to be found in the thick
Pacific Northwest are certainly worth it.
Swarms of people make their way toward the park’s center
every year by foot, river or wheels. The closer you get to the
core, the denser the forest around you becomes. All modes are
similarly challenging. Kayaking can be strenuous, hiking can be
inhumanely primitive and biking can be slow and taxing. But as
long as you’re toughing it out, you will be rewarded tenfold
by Mother Nature.
Waterfalls and lakes provide stunning views and various activities.
Rough winding trails provide dry excitement. Bring courage and
a camera.
