Only about 5,000 brave climbers scale
this daunting peak in a one-year span. You need to be in prime
physical shape to even attempt this feat. But if strenuous climbing
isn’t your thing, there is much more outdoor adventure to
partake in.
The climate is strange here. An absurd amount of snow falls due
to the apparent disruption of systems by the up reaching peak.
But this doesn’t hinder cross-country skiers, snowshoers
and cold-climate hikers from braving the challenging paths. If
you would rather stick with a group or a guide, stop by the visitor
information desk for some assistance.
There are old, historic lodges and cabins dotted around the 235,
625 acre park, as well as camping facilities and hook-ups. Beautiful
rivers weave through the park, giving visitors full-on natural
interaction. Two million visitors a year can’t be wrong.
