The rivers, streams, ponds, and alpine lakes of North Cascades National Park and Lake Chelan and Ross Lake National Recreation Areas in Washington State provide ample opportunities for National Park fishing.
Ross Lake contains populations of native rainbow and cutthroat trout, as well as eastern brook trout. There is a catch limit of 3 Rainbow trout (at least 13 inches). A Washington State fishing license is required to go fishing at Ross Lake. Anglers that catch any bull trout must release them.
Lake Chelan is large, deep and cold. It doesn't support a large fish population, but what it lacks in quantity it makes up for in quality with a wide variety of game fish, including kokanee, land-locked chinook salmon and many kinds of trout, including rainbow, cutthroat and Mackinaw. The Stehekin River and its tributary streams offer excellent fly-fishing.
