The Blue Lake Rhino Cave truly earned its name. One of the basalt flows in the Grand Coulee, the Columbia River, covered a wooly rhinoceros, a mature Diceratherium bull from the Miocene. The highly fluid, rapid-moving basalt made sort of cast over the unfortunate beast. Now there is a small cave in the shape of the long dead animal.
The Blue Lake Rhino Cave is visited from Laurent's Sun Village resort, either by boat or by foot. The rowboat may be rented for a few dollars. Due of its size, the small crawl through the cave is not for everyone.
