Trail Description:
Elevation on top of Potts Mountain is over 3600�, affording great views in all directions. No facilities on trail, but connector (white-blazed) trailheads to Pines Campground, with hand pump for water and vault toilets.
Hiking the
Lipes Branch Trail:
Parking at Trailhead, just off SR 617. First 1.2 mile ascends very gradually on old woods roads. Trail climbs steeply, via switchbacks, through hardwood forest to top of Potts Mountain, connects with jeep road in semi-cleared area on summit.

Trailhead Directions: From I81, take Exit 141 onto SR 419 North to SR 311 North to New Castle. Turn right on SR 615 for 2.5 miles. Turn left on SR 609 for 2 miles to SR 611. Turn left on SR 611 to SR 617. Turn right and go 5.5 miles to Trailhead � sign on left � before Pines Camp Ground.
