Luray Caverns in Virginia is a large cavern with many formations, some of them partly man-made, like the 2 Fried Eggs stalagmites, broken by workmen constructing a pathway 30 years ago. The bizarre Luray's Stalacpipe Organ in the Cathedral has 37 stalactites adjusted to a perfect pitch, with the tones produced by a series of rubber-tipped plungers placed next to each stalactite; Luray's Stalacpipe Organ is played from an organ keyboard.

Another special Virginia attraction is the Luray Caverns Wishing Well, which was described by USA Today as "probably the world's most productive" wishing wells. Since 1954, over 20 million coins or half a million dollars have been thrown into it. The money is used for social purposes such as hospital donations or educational grants.
