Information on Bromley Mountain:
Bromley Mountain located in the Green Mountain National Forest, six miles east of Manchester, Vt., is one of the oldest continuous running ski areas in the United States. Founded in 1936 by beer heir Fred Pabst, Jr., a pioneer in the ski industry, Bromley introduced ski lift and ski area design, trail grooming, day care and other concepts. Pabst designed Bromley's trails to offer breathtaking views, a southern exposure (the only one in New England) and trails that all lead back to the base lodge. While the pure Vermont flavor still exists, the mountain now boasts 43 trails woven through 163 acres of state and national forest, serviced by ten lifts. Bromley is comprised of mostly intermediate and beginner runs. Advanced areas are at East Meadow; intermediate areas are at West Meadow. Snowboarders should checkout Jib Park. It has fat bumps, rails, spines, slides and spools -- all the elements for thrill-seeking boarders. If you recently took up boarding, you may want to take a lesson or two. PSIA-certified teaching professionals will teach all ages of beginners or experienced skiers in need of a tune up. NASTAR racing and clinics are offered for racers of all ages and abilities and telemark is taught for all abilities by appointment.
