The adventurer’s haven known as Stowe creeps up the edge of Mt.
Mansfield. It is a decidedly small town that erupts with skiing and
snowboarding tourism during the winter. And during the summer months,
Stowe is no slouch, either with premier biking hiking, and fly-fishing.
The local resort and lodge provide beautiful amenities for all visitors.
The area itself though, is not as built up as other American resort
towns. Depot Street offers some quirks, pubs, and grills, but nothing
too commercial. Nearby Smuggler’s Notch State Park provides overnight
alternatives for those who prefer camping and cabins.
You will undoubtedly get a sense of quiet seclusion from Stowe, even
during tourism peaks. As in many Vermont towns, the encapsulating wilderness
is much more of a draw than the city streets.
