Bear Lake State Park is a treasure chest of outdoor adventure
opportunities found high in the Rocky Mountains on the Utah-Idaho
border. Waterskiing, swimming, scuba diving and sailing are all
popular water-based activities available at the park. The Utah
fishing there is top-notch, with plenty of cutthroat, mackinaw
and whitefish. In the winter the trails are open for snowmobiling,
and the lake becomes perfect for ice fishing. There are 3 state-owned
facilities that provide camping and picnicking facilities.
Bear Lake State Park is also the home of Rendezvous Beach, located
on the south shore near Laketown. This wide, sandy beach stretches
for 1.25 miles and provides nearly 140 excellent Utah campsites
with modern rest rooms, hot showers and utility hookups. Watercraft
rentals allow visitors to go boating for an affordable fee.
Bear Lake Eastside is located 10 miles north of Laketown. Popular
activities here include scuba diving, boating and fishing. There
are also 6 primitive campgrounds for visitors ready to rough it.
