This semi-secret river is a favorite for kayakers, who take full advantage
of the pristine, deep canyons and seldom crossed land. Dirty Devil is
a wild ride, tossing tides about during its entire length.
Nearby wildlife thrives around this Utah gem. It is a nice escape from
the crowds at nearby Canyonlands National Park, offering largely unscathed
territories. The remnants of a few old mining roads can be found along
the way, but nothing too severe. Plus the steady stream has eroded away
much of the manmade obtrusions.
Whether you plan to backpack, hike, go horseback riding or kayak your
way through Utah’s many natural wonders, it is a good idea to
sidestep some of the crowds. This way, you’ll experience the ancient
grounds in a much more personal way.
