During the months of May-August, the alpine slopes of Utah are awash in color. If you like mountain flowers, then it is definitely worth the drive or hike to see them. The best time of year to see Utah’s mountain flowers is June. If you are arriving in Salt Lake City, then it is only a short drive to the any of the many ski resorts outside of town to see the mountain flowers in bloom. In fact, many of the ski resorts are open during this time for weddings as it is so beautiful. Some of the mountain flowers you may see in Utah are Western Bistort, Penstemon, Prairie Smoke and Phlox. However, some of the best wildflowers are those that are not so obvious but that you have to go out into the mountain meadows to see. So if you like alpine flowers bring your favorite wildflower guide and a friend and enjoy! |
