Moab has recently become one of the most popular desert towns in the state. Much livelier than most Utah cities, it draws visitors from all over the world who want to explore the region by day and hit the town at night.

The Colorado River, which is an excellent waterway for rafting, fishing, hiking and more, basically runs right through town. There are several rental and tour groups who will gladly take you out and show you how to ride the rapids. Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park are both extremely close to town, making Moab a popular stopover between the two.

A series of interesting restaurants a bars (a rarity in Utah) line the few city streets between about thirty hotels. At certain times of year, Moab is packed and it is difficult to find an empty room. But if you plan ahead, you’ll be right at home amidst the swarm of outdoorsmen and women.
