Silver King Mine

Silver King Mine Exhibit is a museum with a replica of the famous Silver King Mine. The story of this mine is rather strange, yet dull.

The Silver King Mine became the premier mine in this area when the new owner discovered a silver lode yielding 3million dollars worth of high grade silver courtesy of mining engineeer Solomon Spiro, a German Jewish emigrant who came to Park City in 1894, who managed to miss the silver before he sold his claim to the new owners of Silver King mine, the partners Thomas Kearns, David Keith, James Ivers and A.B. Emery. These men accumulated an enormous amount of wealth from Spiro’s missed opportunity and ill fortune.
