Utah offers numerous beaches along reservoirs scattered in the state. But after the sedate waters of reservoir beaches you might want the exciting river waters to have fun in.
If you're on the lookout of unique swimming experiences in wild canyons then heading for the trails would be a good idea. A great place to start is the eastern rim of the Zion Canyon. As the core of the Zion National Park its the East Mesa Trail here that's the star attraction, offering a multitude of recreational activities. Among these beachy swim spots at great locations.
Virgin River is a nearly 160 mile long tributary of the Colorado River that flows around here. The Virgin River is the best place to be in the heat of summer and is home to many of Zion's most beautiful and elusive slot canyons. Aside from the most popular North Fork route, also known as the Zion Narrows, there are many routes descending from various hanging canyons and tributaries of the Virgin River.

East Mesa Trail is a great local trail for doing a bit of leg stretching. When the heat gets to you then you have swim holes to refresh yourself. The pleasant whitewater of Virgin River - North Fork, is a great place to get into the waters. A wonderful spot here is Bulloch Gulch. Also a short spree away is the Lemmon Spring that will revive your spirits.
Bulloch Gulch is truly a beautiful spot and its intersection with Orderville is one of the lushest, greenest areas of Zion. All along you have manzanitas, gamble oak, wild roses, ponderosa, pinon, mountain daises and Indian paintbrush. Getting into the river waters and splashing about is an unforgettable experience. Especially after all the trailing around, Virgin River waters appear to a source of inspiration.
