Jordanelle Reservoir, located on picturesque mountain setting near Heber City, at an elevation of 6,200 feet, offers a wide array of recreational opportunities. You have two separate recreation areas at Jordanelle State Park. Between the two developed areas of the park visitors can enjoy camping, picnicking, wildlife watching, fishing, boating, water sports, swimming, hiking and mountain biking.
The Hailstone Recreation Area, located on the west shore serves as the main recreational facility of the Park. This site has become one of the most heavily visited recreational areas in the state due to its location and facilities. Hailstone serves thousands of visitors who enjoy the water front activities on its beaches.

The area offers nearly 200 campsites, for both RV's as well as tents, around rolling hills and majestic mountain peaks. The waters of Jordanelle provide recreational opportunities for swimmers, boaters, waterskiers, anglers and jet skiers. The reservoir is also an important resting area for many migratory waterfowl and other birds.
The Rock Cliff Recreation Area is located on the Provo River. It offers visitors the unique opportunity to interact with the wonderful riparian environment here. Elevated boardwalks and trails guide visitors through the upland sage and wetland areas, leading to a breathtaking view of the Provo River as it enters the Jordanelle Reservoir. Rock Cliff should be your destination if you are looking for a quiet place to unwind.
Rock Cliff's 100 acres of protected habitat attracts abundant wildlife. Nearly 200 species of birds, including the Bald Eagle, and many mammals. This pristine area attracts the serious enthusiast for its unique low-impact recreational experiences.
To protect this area and at the same time provide a quality camping experience for visitors, a secluded walk-in tent campground is established that nestles among the beautiful cottonwood/aspen forests along the Provo River.
