With a length of 30 miles, a width of almost
5 miles (at its widest point), and a shoreline of over 120 miles Lake
Buchanan in central Texas easily is the largest of the 1st 4 Highland
Lakes. Similarly, with a length of more than 2 miles Buchanan Dam was
believed to be the longest multiple-arch dam in the U.S. at the time
it was built.
Lake Buchanan is an extremely popular destination for outdoor adventurers.
