Natural Bridge Caverns

Natural Bridge Caverns takes its name from the natural bridge near the cave-mouth. The remains of 46 different vertebrates were found in the cave, mostly in the first chamber, including the 8.000 year-old jawbone of a black bear.

The biggest chamber of the cave is called Hall of the Mountain King. It is 100m long, 33m wide and 33m high, and is said to be the biggest chamber in Texas.

Rock formations of note include the Fried Egg Stalagmites: a yellow center is surrounded by a white ring that makes the top of the stalagmite look like a fried egg.

The cave Administration offers spelunking tours into South Caverns called Discovery Adventure Tour. The spelunking tours take 3 hours. All caving gear is provided, except for clothing, towels and shoes.
