Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in Austin, Texas houses
40 million pages of historical documents, including the papers
from the entire public career of former US President Lyndon Baines
Johnson.
The library also serves as a public museum with year-round historical
and cultural exhibits. Special exhibitions are produced in-house,
while other documents and artifacts on loan from other institutions
and private collections from nation are also displayed.
The Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum is handicap accessible,
with access to all exhibit floors and the lower floor restrooms,
transcripts for deaf and hard-of-hearing, Braille booklets, and
wheelchairs available at the lobby information desk. The presidential
gift shop offers original LBJ campaign items in addition to a
selection of books, gifts, and souvenirs.
The Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum is open every day,
except Christmas from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission to this
excellent Austin tourist attraction is free.
