The 1,430+-acre Panther Creek State Park is located on the shores of Cherokee Reservoir, 45 miles south of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It is a park loaded with outdoor adventure opportunities. Panther Creek offers 13 hiking and biking trails, 5 of which are hiking only. No motorized vehicles are allowed on these trails.

Panther Creek offers 50 Tennessee campsites, complete with water, electrical hookups, grills, picnic tables, a bathhouse, and laundry facility. Nearly 80 picnic tables are located in shaded areas throughout Panther Creek State Park. The park also has 2 large picnic pavilions that may be reserved up to1 year in advance for larger groups.

Water-based activities are popular at Panther Creek State Park. Cherokee Lake is a perfect lake for boating and provides year-round catches of bass, crappie, bluegill, catfish and bream (a valid Tennessee fishing license is required). Panther Creek State Park's swimming pool opens Memorial Day weekend and is open Tuesday through Sunday until mid-August.
