Still green waters at Norris Lake.
Norris Lake stretches more than 70 miles up the Clinch River in Tennessee, and nearly 60 miles up the Powell River from Norris Dam. This Reservoir provides over 800 miles of shoreline and covers 33,840 surface-acres. Norris Lake is the largest reservoir on a tributary of the Tennessee River.

Because of the popularity of Norris Lakes as a recreational area and vacation destination the Tennessee Valley Authority opened a visitor center at the Norris Dam in summer 2005. The use of Norris Reservoir for outdoor activities is greater than that of any other tributary reservoir in the TVA river system.

Norris provides opportunities for boating, water skiing, swimming, and excellent Tennessee fishing. There are also 3 hiking trails around Norris Lake. The wildflower laden River Bluff Trail is the longest at just over 3 miles, the wheelchair accessible Edge Path is pleasant and shady, and bird watchers won’t want to miss the Songbird Trail.
