Twilight on Chickamauga
Chickamauga Lake (name after an off-shoot of the Cherokee tribes) is a reservoir on the Tennessee River north of Chattanooga. Chickamauga Lake stretches nearly 60 miles upriver from the Chickamauga Dam to Watts Bar Dam. Chickamauga has more than 780 miles of shoreline and covers over 36,000 surface-acres.

Chickamauga Lake is one of the most popular Tennessee lakes and attracts millions of visitors every year for fishing, boating, swimming camping and other outdoor adventures. Chickamauga Lake features boat ramps and canoe access points along North Chickamauga Creek.

Chickamauga Lake is an excellent spot for Tennessee fishing. Game fish species found in the reservoir include white crappie, bluegill, white bass, largemouth bass, sauger and channel and blue catfish.

The Big Ridge Small Wild Area is a scenic, 200-acre forest located above the north shore of the reservoir at the Chickamauga Dam. Hikers can enjoy the easy 1.3-mile loop trail through the forest found there.
