Pigeon Forge Tennessee is only 5 miles from Gatlinburg.
The only appreciable difference between the two is Dolly Parton’s
Dollywood. The country music star’s theme park draws an incredible
11 million visitors a year. Dollywood has all the rides and attractions
one might expect at a major theme park. It also features 1st class live
country, gospel and bluegrass music. Guests love to get wet at Dollywood’s
Splash Country water park. Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede and dinner
show offers dinner, a show and a rodeo.
Dollywood isn’t all of Pigeon Forge, just most of it. There are
plenty of other places to enjoy miniature golf and bumper boats, and
at least one indoor skydiving simulator. The Black Bear Jamboree is
a 10 million dollar musical revue with gigantic stage shows. The Comedy
Barn is a family-friendly variety show in the Hee Haw tradition. Celebrity
impersonators sing your favorites as your favorites at the Celebrity
Theater.
There are many places to camp in Pigeon Forge. The Foothills RV Park
& Campgrounds has hook-ups. The Alpine Hideaway and Eagles Nest
Campgrounds provide some lovely scenery. is an especially impressive time
to be in Pigeon Forge Tennessee. Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede
offers a musical Nativity show. Roller Coaster enthusiasts will enjoy The
Thunderhead, Pigeon Forge’s state of the art wooden roller coaster.
