Birmingham Museum of Art

The Birmingham Museum of Art owned by the City of Birmingham encompasses 3.9 acres in the heart of the city’s cultural district.

It holds the finest collections in the Southeast US having over 24,000 paintings, sculptures, prints, drawings, and decorative arts from numerous cultures including Asian, European, American, African, Pre-Columbian and Native American. The collection of Asian art is quite comprehensive along with Vietnamese ceramics that are the finest in the U.S.

The Museum is home to a remarkable Kress Collection of Renaissance and Baroque paintings, sculpture and decorative arts from late 13th century to c.1750 and 18th-century European decorative arts that include superior examples of English ceramics and French furniture.
