Sturgis would be like any other American frontier town
except that every August half-a-million bikers and Harley-Davidson enthusiasts
roar into town for the Sturgis Rally and Races. Any biker worth his
hog already knows all about Sturgis and its famous rally, has probably
been to a few, and may have even stopped in the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum
& Hall of Fame to take a look at their 38 pristine Harley-Davidson
Motorcycles before grabbing a beer and a cheeseburger at One-Eyed Jack’s
Saloon. If you’re not a biker, don’t worry too much; it
isn’t as scary as it sounds. If you’ve survived Mardi Gras
and keep a level head then there’s fun to be had.
Nearby Bear Butte State Park offers camping and hiking, but visitors
should be especially respectful of the park due to its religious significance
to local Native American tribes.
