South Dakota cities have an inescapable
aura of the old west about them, but who wants to escape it when
they visit this rugged and fascinating state. Deadwood
is the Wild West town, and full of history. Pierre
and Rapid City are gateways to outdoor
adventure. Sioux Falls has a taste
of western urban flair and every burly biker worth his somewhat
questionable leather chaps has heard of Sturgis.
Deadwood:
The entire town is a National
Historic Landmark thanks to its history as the most famous town
in the Wild West.
Pierre:
The capitol of South Dakota is a great home-base for outdoor adventure
and western cultural exploration.
Rapid
City:
Rapid City is primarily a gateway to the many wonderful
out-door adventures awaiting them in the marvelous Black Hills
of South Dakota.
Sioux
Falls:
The largest city in South Dakota, and has an appropriately
large variety of activities and attractions.
Sturgis: The annual Sturgis Rally and Races brings half-a-million bikers
to this little town every August.
