South Dakota cities have an inescapable aura of the old west about them, but who wants to escape it when they visit this rugged and fascinating state. Deadwood is the Wild West town, and full of history. Pierre and Rapid City are gateways to outdoor adventure. Sioux Falls has a taste of western urban flair and every burly biker worth his somewhat questionable leather chaps has heard of Sturgis.
