South Dakota, a state located in the Midwestern region of the United States of America is named after the Lakota and Dakota Sioux American Indian tribes. It is surrounded to the north by North Dakota; to the south by Nebraska; to the east by Iowa and Minnesota; and to the west by Wyoming and Montana. The state is divided by the Missouri River, in two socially and economically distinct halves, referred as "West River" and "East River".

Lake Thompson BeachConsidered to be the second largest natural lake, spread in an area of around 15,000 - 20,000 acres. This was formed in the glacier age.

Oakwood Lake Beach : Located near Brookings, provides all the year-round activities for South Dakota visitors. This is said to be the origin point of eight connecting glacial lakes surrounded by fingers of land.

Angostura Reservoir Beach : Situated in western South Dakota, this is one of only a few reservoirs in the entire state. It is said to be the heaven for water lovers, especially swimmers.

Cold Brook Lake Beach :   Located on the southern edge of the Black Hills, close to Mt. Rushmore and Custer State Park, is a hot spot for tourists, so if you are in search for peace and quiet, you need not to go elsewhere.
