South Carolina’s Oconee Station Falls make for a great day trip. A former 18th century Indian trading post (the building is still standing falls are located in the once Federal but now State owned Oconee Station.
The Oconee Station Falls are just a short hike from the Oconee Station Road and the trail is wide and easy to walk. Even horses and bikes can use the trail, which goes all the way to Oconee State Park, only about 2 miles up the mountain via the trail.
Oconee Station is located just off Scenic Hwy 11, a.k.a. the Foothills Scenic Hwy, roughly 4 miles above the towns of Walhalla and West Union, South Carolina. There are 2 separate parking areas at Oconee Station near the falls.
