Ohiopyle State Park
Located in the midst of the Laurel Mountains and on the shores of the brisk Youghiogheny River, Ohiopyle is one of Pennsylvania’s best concentration of possible outdoor adventures. There are a multitude of things to do, so you might want to bring a tent or shack up in an onsite cabin to prolong your stay.

White water rafting and kayaking are probably the most popular ventures in the park, and rightly so. The “Yough,” as it’s known, provides excellent, variant rapids, regardless of your skill level, age, etc. There are also many small waterfalls in the area, accessible at various point in the park’s trail system. The trout fishing is also plentiful, attracting thousands of anglers annually. Winter activities include snowmobiling, skiing, ice fishing, and sledding.

So whether you want an adrenaline rush or a casual stroll, Ohiopyle is perfect.
