Depending on where you’re taking out and putting in, this river varies slightly. The Susquehanna is a generally temperamental river and can really toss a rider around in spots.

There are long stretches of three and four level rapids and some of the stretches require intense concentration. The plus side is that most of the river is relatively deep, cutting down on dangerous boulders jetting up through the surface. In other sections, the river can seem almost jovial. The waters are deep and riders get pulled along at a steady, simple pace.

There are several put ins along the way, so you can map out the trip depending on your preferences.
