Six designated sections currently make up this nationally
recognized corridor. Though it may seem simple to patch up the rest
of the path and conjoin all the respective fragments, attempts to do
so are rare.
Pennsylvania splits one of the larger portions with Maryland. The stretch
is slightly less challenging than some Appalachian trails, primarily
because it exists in Potomac’s watershed. Some of this portion
is more of a concept than an actual, stomped out trail, but if mapped
properly and hiked by the right adventurers, the Potomac in Pennsylvania
can be a worthy venture.
