Presque Isle, the jutting sandy peninsula on Lake Erie has the only surf beach in Pennsylvania. Lake Erie's shoreline has twelve permitted public bathing beaches with family facilities at Beaches 1, 6, 7 and 11. The water here is fairly shallow and visitors are happy to find good parking, picnicking and changing facilities.
Pennsylvania beaches see a great rush from late June through August. But even in the winters on good days the lake shores attract a great many people interested in water sports, fishing and sailing. Beach 7: Boogie boards and exciting water sports makes this spot a playing field on the waters of spectacular Lake Erie. Its a phenomenal beach - like nowhere else.
Budny Beach: This guarded beach with due facilities has boaters, kite fliers and wind surfers headed for good times on the beach. Its also known as Beach 10.
Pine Tree Beach: Or Beach 9 is a piece of heaven. You will readily believe this to be an ocean front shore line where waves lap rhythmically. Facilities include the bathhouse, picnic areas and water sports. |
