Cape Lookout State Park is located 1.5 hours west of Portland,
Oregon, through the scenic Wilson River Pass. Along with Cape
Kiwanda and Cape Meares, Lookout is part of the Three Capes Scenic
Route This park is a popular Oregon campground and day-use area,
Cape Lookout provides a terrific view of the ocean with easy access
to the beach.
The park boasts more than 8 miles of hiking and walking trails,
in a lush old-growth forest. The Cape Lookout trail follows the
headland for more than 2 miles.
There are 2 walking trails, a nature trail and the Jackson Creek
trail. The nature trail allows visitors to check out native trees
and other plants, while the Jackson Creek Trail starts with an
interpretive panel that discusses the local salmon restoration
project.
One of he most exciting outdoor adventure opporunities at this
park is soaring above on hang gliders and paragliders.
