Oregon Home | Oregon Sitemap
Portland, Oregon has a climate that is temperate and seasonal, with a good deal of precipitation: 40 to 45 inches of rain per year are not unusual. In fact, Portland averages 155 days ofprecipitation every year.

Oddly Portland weather shows many characteristics of a Mediterranean climate, in that the city enjoys mild wet winters and warm summers with low humidity. Winter low temperatures average approximately 35 degrees F, while summer highs average about 80 degrees F. Occasional summer heat waves can make temperatures soar to100 degrees F or more, but this is atypical; Portland summers are generally quite agreeable, with abundant sunshine. The lowest temperature ever recorded in downtown Portland, Oregon was 3 degrees F on February 2nd, 1950, but again, this is not the norm.
