Information on Slide Lake:

Slide Lake is located in Strawberry Mountain Wilderness Area at 7450 feet in elevation. The lake is 13 acres in size with a maximum depth of 8 feet. Slide Lake can be reached by Trail #372 from the Slide Connector Trailhead (5.1 mi). The lake can also be reached from the Strawberry Lake Trailhead by Trail #s 375 (1.0 mi), 372 (2.0 mi), 385 (0.7 mi), and 385A (0.2 mi). There is no charge for parking at these trailheads.

Directions to Slide Lake:

From Prairie City take County Rd #60 south for about 7 miles to Forest Boundary. Continue on Forest Rd 6001 to Slide Creek Trailhead or Strawberry Trailhead.

Local Campgrounds near Slide Lake are: Developed campgrounds in the vicinity of Slide Lake are: Strawberry Lake CG (12 sites, drinking water, fee $6 per night), Slide Creek CG (3 sites, no drinking water, no fee), Slide Horse Camp (3 sites w/horse facilities, no drinking water, no fee), and McNaughton CG (3 sites, no drinking water, no fee). Dispersed camping sites are located around the lake. This is a heavy use area on weekends and holidays. Check with Prairie City Ranger District for current use restrictions at the lake.
