Bend Oregon is an active and attractive
city on the move. The mild weather and beautiful setting in the
Cascade Mountains make Bend a prime location of outdoor adventure
in Oregon.
Visitors to bend should check out the High Desert Museum. There
are excellent exhibits on the Oregon deserts early cultural and
natural history, and the Raptor Center has Spotted Owls. The Deschutes
Gallery’s collection of Native American art is definitely
worth a look. Mirror Pond is a great place to take a break from
shopping and sightseeing before catching a show at the retro Town
Theater.
There are a number of nearby outdoor adventure spots around Bend.
There are four rivers within a day’s drive of Bend that
offer class I to IV rapids. The peaks of the Cascades are even
more splendid when viewed from a hot air balloon. There are also
opportunities for fishing, camping and hunting in the National
Forests that surround Bend Oregon. Rock climbers will enjoy the
1,000+ bolted routes at Smith Rock Park. No ski-bum worth his
chap-stick can pass up the 3,100 feet of vertical drop at Mt.
Bachelor.
