A.C. Gilbert's Discovery Village is a private nonprofit children's museum that was founded in 1989. The Village's mission is to provoke curiosity, inspire awe, foster enjoyment, encourage learning and enable understanding in all youth via fun and challenging exhibits, summer camps, birthday parties, membership opportunities and outreach programs in the sciences, arts, and humanities. Any Oregon vacation that incorporates A.C. Gilbert’s Discovery Village is a rich and rewarding experience.

The Gilbert House is a Queen Anne Victorian of Eastlake design, built by architect and designer C.A. Robert. The Museum opened on the 15th of December in 1989. The Gilbert House is on the National Register of Historic Places.
