state that is studied by geologists and students from around the
world. The Arbuckle Mountains range is approximately 35 miles
east-to-west and 10-15 miles north-to-south, with the main part
of the range located in northern Carter County and southern Murray
County, roughly 15 miles north of Ardmore and 5 miles south of
Davis. The eastern flank of the ridge is stretches about 5 miles
south of Sulphur on U.S. Highway 177.
The 2 most popular recreation areas in the Arbuckle Mountains
are Turner Falls Park and the Chickasaw National Recreation Area,
which is among the most popular national park facilities (relative
to its small size) in the United States. Turner Falls State Park
can be found 5 miles south of Davis, whereas Chickasaw National
