Oklahoma’s one time state capital, Guthrie, is becoming a favorite tourist destination. The main attraction is its century old downtown, a National Historic Landmark and a little well-preserved slice of the old west. There’s no end of western-themed entertainment, from the Lazy E Arena indoor rodeo to the Double Stop Fiddle Shop & Music Hall. Those that need a break from cowboys and horses can try one of Guthrie’s two championship golf-courses or stop take in a show at the Pollard Theater.

There are plenty of fun places to stay in Guthrie ranging from the rustic to the Victorian and more; check out the Bed & Breakfast Association of Guthrie for more information.

Guthrie has fantastic BBQ, especially at the historic Harrison House. The old-fashioned downtown trolley and horse-drawn carriage rides make getting around Guthrie as fun as being there.
