Late autumn in Mohican State Park
Located on the cliffs of Clearfork Gorge and the banks of the Mohican River, this Ohio treasure houses hundreds of acres, unscathed and protected. The variance of the land gives visitors the chance to experience the scenery from several different angles.

Ideal for mountain biking among other trail activities, the forest paths weave up and through the slight inclines of Ohio’s northern wilderness. There are primitive, walk-through campsites available that are perfect for backpackers.

The Mohican offers several water-based attractions such as canoeing, boating and fishing. It is a relatively lazy river, so don’t hesitate to book a trip for the whole family.

The Clearfork is tall and steep, formed by sweeping glaciers some 12,000 years ago. This is an area that has been rendered perfect for rock climbing and repelling.

With the addition of nearby lodges and cottages, the park’s beauty has been made more readily available to those who would otherwise not be able to experience it. And Mohican State Park is still popular with those who choose to ignore modernity.
