Thick with lily pads, cattails and an unrivaled fish population, the
Big Darby Creek and its subsequent tributary are nationally known preserves.
The abundant vegetation provides interesting scenery and forms natural
canopies for those kayaking or canoeing downstream.
This stunning channel gained national recognition in 1994 when it was
included in a program to delegate America’s best rivers or Scenic
Waterways, as they were henceforth known. Darby Creeks are some of Ohio’s
best and many are working to keep the region pristine and unharmed by
the hand of man.
