Ohio’s summer tourist season sees the biggest crowds in outdoor
hotspots, like campgrounds, rivers and the shores Lake Eerie. Cities
in the Buckeye state see manageable crowds, though rates are a bit higher.
Fall in southern Ohio is a great time to hit the south of the state
for some changing leaves. Amish country sees most of its visitors in
the early part of autumn as well.
Summer is the slowest tourism season in Ohio, and with fairly good reason.
There just isn’t much to do in the winter months that can’t
be done better in West Virginia.
Spring is the best off-season time to visit Ohio. Prices are down, crowds
are thin and the weather is great, though visitors with hay fever may
want to bring their medication in the lush and blooming southern 3rd
of the state.
