This site chronicles the mysterious existence
of a formerly coined “lost race.” The mounds located here
have been the subject of much dispute between science and historians.
There is still a fair amount of study and research that goes on here,
in attempt to more thoroughly pin down where the people of Hopewell
came from, their migratory habits, their sophistication and so on. But
for visitors, all the past research and examples of such are on display
in a nearby visitors center. Also, take the guided tour for some insightful
