Clarence J. Brown Dam and Reservoir is a 2,120-acre lake
located northeast of Springfield, Ohio Clarence J. Brown Dam and Reservoirs
in Ohio. C. J. Brown Region covers 4,085 acres and provides numerous
outdoor recreational opportunities.
Clarence J. Brown Dam and Reservoir features a boat ramp, a marina,
a picnic area, and places for boating, swimming and camping. The Ohio
fishing here is very good, with sizable populations of walleye and white
bass. Crappie numbers are also decent, and channel catfish can reach12
pounds. Fair populations of small and largemouth bass, spotted bass,
and bluegill are also present. The marina at the reservoir offers fuel,
boat rentals, 186 seasonal docks, overnight dockage and a dump station.
There are several nearby Ohio hiking trails accessible from the Stone's
Throw Trail, an easy 0.25-mile trail to the 1-mile Lakeview Trail to
the 3.5-mile Buckhorn Trail. There is also a 6-mile bridle trail system
available on the east side of the park. Snowmobiling is sometimes possible
on the east side of the reservoir in the winter.
