The 1,350-acre Charles Mills Lake features a wide range
of recreational opportunities. The lake has a 10 HP limit for boats
and launches at the Charles Mill Lake Marina, which is open year and
offers docking, boat rentals, fuel, supplies, boat sales and service.
Ohio fishing is permitted at the day use area above the dam with the
proper licenses.
There are 500 campsites at Charles Mill Lake, many with electric hookups,
swimming beaches, teepee rentals, patio cabins, camper cabins, and picnic
shelters.
Nearby Loudonville Ohio has a private business that offers Horseback
riding near Charles Mills Lake. Canoeing is also possible through local
outfitters. Handicapped facilities are provided at the day use area
from May through September.
Visitors to Charles Mill Lake can go biking, picnicking and fishing
at the dam, as well as hiking on the property that surrounds dam.
